Mareens interventions are based on the investigation of ecological, historical and social forces that shape the material world. Her focus lies on researching sustainable materials and manufacturing processes in order to question and reflect on behaviours and open up perspectives for the future.

She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Detmold. She currently lives in Berlin, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in product design at the Weißensee Academy of Art and Design and works on her own projects.
