Mareens interventions are based on the investigation of ecological, historical and social forces that shape the material world. Her focus lies on researching sustainable materials and manufacturing processes in order to question and reflect on behaviours and open up perspectives for the future.

In 2022, she completed her Interior Architecture Bachelor’s degree at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Detmold. She currently lives in Berlin, where she is completing her Master’s degree in product design at the Weißensee Academy of Art and Design and is working on her own projects.
